Ascendion Law achieved a major award for our client against his former employers.
Janessa Mason successfully argued that Mr. Sever's employment contract was breached, and he was entitled to unpaid salary, severance pay, shares, legal costs, and damages. Western Magnesium Corporation was ordered to pay our client ~$3.97 million Canadian dollars.
The court accepted our argument that the matter should be determined at summary trial, finding it was a straightforward breach of contract case and the main facts are not disputed. In addition to noting that Western Magnesium had failed to appear at trial, Justice Murray found that: “The defendants have consistently attempted to delay proceedings. They have sued the plaintiff twice in the United States, causing him to incur significant legal fees to have the actions dismissed.”
